Ontologies as Software Artifacts:

چکیده
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), a main precursor in the use of ontology for the Semantic Web endorses the use of Ontologies for software development. the analyzed proposals based on taxonomy presented in the above section as a function of Ontologies as artifacts used: at software development time (for the realization of the stated engineering processes or for other auxiliary processes) at software run time, as architectural artifacts (ontology-driven software)or as information resources (ontology-aware software)

Roles of Ontologies of Engineering Artifacts for Design Knowledge Modeling
Capturing design knowledge and its modeling are crucial issues for design support systems and design knowledge management. It is important that knowledge models are systematic, consistent, reusable and interoperable. This survey article discusses the roles of ontologies of engineering artifacts for contributing to such design knowledge modeling from a viewpoint of computer science. An ontology ...
متن کاملThe Use of Ontologies as a Backbone for Software Engineering Tools
The last few years research e orts concerning ontologies in computer science and arti cial intelligence have been focussed on methodologies, formalisms and tools to build and to browse ontologies. Although everybody is convinced of the power and use of ontologies, until now no real prove exists of their potential in the domain of Software Engineering. In every phase of software engineering, com...

Ontologies in Software Engineering and Software Technology Communication is one of the main activities in software projects, many such projects fail or encounter serious problems because the stakeholders involved have different understandings of the problem domain and/or they use different terminologies. Ontologies can help to mitigate these communication probl...
متن کاملCurrent practices and perspectives for metadata on web ontologies and rules
The Semantic Web contains a number of knowledge artifacts, including OWL ontologies, RIF rule sets and RDF datasets. Effective exchange and management of these artifacts demands the use of metadata and prompt availability of accurate reference documentation. In this article, we analyze the current practices in metadata usage for OWL ontologies, and we propose a vocabulary for annotating RIF rul...
متن کاملAn Ontological Approach for the Semantic Recovery of Traceability Links between Software Artifacts An Ontological Approach for the Semantic Recovery of Traceability Links between Software Artifacts
Traceability links provide support for software engineers in understanding relations and dependencies among software artifacts created during the software development process. In this research, we focus on reestablishing traceability links between existing source code and documentation to support software maintenance. We present a novel approach that addresses this issue by creating formal onto...
